"Razor" was reminiscent of his score for The Field and "New York" reminded me of John Williams by way of Aaron Copeland, while "Smoke" and "Battle" sound like the morphing of traditional 50's epic and western movie scores. Here's a shockwave version of "Battle" in its entirety.

Thanks Arnzilla "Razor" I could imagine in context "Battle" less so. I prefer Signal To Noise. The samples have the grandiose feel of an epic movie...especially a 50's one. I wonder if we'll ever know why Scorsese rejected it, but I'm not sorry he did.
