Thanks Peanut It's interesting to see how the set comes to life in these pics.

Also, it seems they were able to find the actual car that's mentioned in the novel: the 1947 Buick Roadmaster (maroon).

Thanks for the pics, Will. Dante is doing a phenomenal job, as always. That car is gorgeous.

Metal cages.. It looks frightening but in the same time, that's what we were expecting. Reminds me of the cages in GONY.. when they introduce "the Five Points"... Dozens of people living there in misery, packed like animals in cages.. always about to blow out. And it happens. Insurection. Here in SI we're not confronted to the general public, trapped in cages, we are confronted to a particular part of that public, the "undesired" , the "neglected" trapped in the same cages... and it blows out too... even if this is necessary to our story... Thanks for the new set pics Will

What is "ALDEN - LEEDS"? Does it mean anything, or are these the names of the families that are to be buried in the mausoleum? Edit: -- snip -- Also, risking a perhaps inappropriate comparison... these gatehouses look a bit similar to me: Does anyone remember if Medfield had such a structure? I can't find any photos today... all the Medfield sites seem to not work anymore.

Thanks, Will. Lotsa great stuff there. I see the Ashecliffe logo is still dripping. :D I don't think you're stretching it with that gatehouse comparison. But watch me go stretching. Google "Alden-Leeds" then read the following quote I found about Nazi drug experimentation: During World War II, the drug was commonly used to increase wakefulness and attention. In fact, the Nazi’s developed a method of methamphetamine production called the Nazi Method that is still commonly used today in clandestine labs...There are a number of other chemicals used in the production of methamphetamines, but these items cannot be purchased in their natural form. Thus, many automotive and/or household chemicals are used as sources of substitution...Muriatic acid: swimming pool cleaner

Will Thanks for more great set pix from our favorite sethand :D As to mosoleum...yes...typically those would be the last names of the families interred there... In New Orleans (we are built on swamp land) all of our dead are buried above ground...so family mosoleums such as the one in the photo are quite common sights here. Arnz Gosh what interesting info you've uncovered about the names on the mosoleum..... Truly Marty has a ' reason' for every little set detail ! Some more set pix.....guess my 'wrap party invite' got lost in the mail :D

RE Will July 16 posting regarding the Medfield gatehouse Totally fake. They did a beautiflu job on it. I had to get within about a foot of it to realize that it was fake. The "granite" at the base was actually styrofoam They built about 1/4 mile I estimate of brick walls like that for the set. The hospital from what I can see had no walls like that.

Yep, it'll be decorated with gore and stationery. From http://www.ww2-german-uniforms.com/ We have recently provided reproduction WW2 paperwork for scenes in the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster, “Ashcliffe” starring Leonardo Dicaprio and British actor Ben Kingsley. Directed by Martin Scorsese the plot revolves around a U.S Marshal, Teedy Daniels (Dicaprio) who is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane. We provided paperwork for scenes which take place in the offices of a liberated Dachau concentration camp in 1945. The film is due for release in 2009. Here are some samples of the reproduction WW2 paperwork we have provided for the film:
