Long time reader, first time poster...HIIII GIIILLBEEERT!!! Hey everyone, Sid here, but u can call me by my username, Ocyrus.I've been browsing and reading the posts on this great website(thanks arnzilla) since production started on The Departed. And I decided to register and hopefully contribute/post more since this is probably the best source for info on Scorsese movies.
A little background on me:
The first Scorsese film I watched was Goodfellas 5 years ago.And even though the violence and cursing was censored(Malaysian TV, waddya expect), I still found it to be one of the best films I've seen. And this is my response when I saw the actual, uncut version: BEST.FILM.EVER.And it still hasn't been topped. And I didn't know films could be that good and it basically started my love for classics and 'great' films in general(5 years ago I used to watch Michael Bay movies, now I look forward to films by Scorsese and young 'uns Nolan, Fincher, Singer). After that, I scoured DVD shops for his films, and these are Scorsese films I've seen before The Aviator came out: Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Mean Streets, Casino, The King of Comedy, The Color of Money, Bringing Out The Dead, Gangs of New York. And then I saw The Aviator.Wow.And the rest is history I guess..
He became my favourite director...And thanks to his films, Leo Dicaprio ousted Edward Norton to becoming my favourite actor.
So, yeah.I hope to post more and maybe make a few friends in the process.Hope this board stays alive until Scorsese receives an Hononary Oscar/Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award
P.S. The 'HIIII GIIILLBEEERT!!!' thing was a reference to What's Eating Gilbert Grape. If anyone's wondering.Fans of Leo should definitely check that movie.

Welcome to the board, Ocyrus. Have you seen Life Lessons, The Last Temptation of Christ, Kundun, or New York, New York?

I checked it up on IMDb, you're talking about the 1989 version, right?Nope, I've never heard of it until now. What's it about? And what does it have to do with me?

Hiya. Yes, 1989. I just edited my post to name Scorsese's contribution to the anthology film: Life Lessons. It's like concentrated Scorsese, short but it's got all his "stuff" in it.

Nah, I live in Malaysia and it's hard to get rare DVDs.And Kundun and The Last Temptation of Christ is considered rare...Is Life Lessons on Youtube?

I don't think so.
