Noticed something about Chuck in the book...
and a character Mark has played in the past. A connection. In the book it is mentioned that he has soft/delicate hands that didn't seem to fit with the rest of him. I was watching the film In The Cut that Mark is in, a Jane Campion film, and in it his character is talking to Meg Ryan's character and he sees her looking down at his hands so he says "Yeah, I know. I got faggot hands. They're soft." Or something to that effect and I thought it was kind of ironic and even possible that, that is one of the resons Martin may have thought of Ruffalo for the part. I don't know, seem like it would be an insignificant reason, but it stuck out to me...

that does seem weird. I know whenever I read the book, all the wat through I kept imaginig Mark as Chuck (before I even knew he was cast) and I thought this guy would be great to play Chuck because I had seen him in Zodiac and I was shocked to find out that the inly person I was seeing as Chuck got the part, I think he and Leo will be great together
