SCORSESE Wears His Early Honcho Training On Arm November 8, 2005 -- BEFORE Martin Scorsese was barking out orders on movie sets, he had lots of practice ordering people around as a hall monitor at Cardinal Hayes HS in the South Bronx. But he let the power go to his head, slapping detention slips on classmates for just looking at him the wrong way, and he was eventually stripped of his armband, the coveted patch worn by hall monitors. The other night at Morton's steakhouse, Hayes president Fr. Joseph Tierney sur prised Scorsese by returning the armband. Scorsese was there with another Hayes alum, Regis Philbin, to help launch the school's $10 million building campaign which includes a new media center that Scorsese is funding. I agree Nas....that was a cute and funny article! :) I think Scorsese takes most things he does seriously. Guess it was the same when he was a teen. Nice to know he got his monitor armband back! Thanks virgo!
