Scorsese/De Niro Biopic Project
Whoa. Could it be true??? HOLLYWOOD - Longtime pals Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro will re-team for a movie about their lives. The director and Oscar-winning actor grew up in the same New York City neighborhood and have worked on a string of hit movies including Goodfellas and Raging Bull. Now they're planning to reunite for a movie "about our life together," Scorsese confirms. Work on the project will begin in earnest when De Niro finishes directing and starring in The Good Shepherd, alongside Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie and Joe Pesci. http://www.hollywood.com/news/detail/id/3556949

Thanks, virgomoon. :D Are we sure, though, that this is about a movie? I first saw it on the Evening Standard article that had: For Scorsese aficionados, however, the good news is that Scorsese is reuniting with Robert De Niro for a future project, an autobiographical story "about our lives together", which they will resume writing when De Niro finishes his own directing job, The Good Shepherd, starring Departed star Matt Damon. De Niro and Scorsese grew up in the same neighbourhood together and the project will look at their experience of the Italian diaspora in America - not a million miles away from the Irish of Boston. De Niro made a bit of news on the Charlie Rose show tonight. He said that as he spoke, screenwriter Eric Roth was meeting with Scorsese to discuss this life story project.
