As part of AT&T's campaign for wireless courtesy.
I think he's still in Hitchcock mood :)

EXCELLENT !!! :D
And if "they" could stop using "beep" sounds on exerpts on TV shows and clips (when there's a basic rude word pronounced, you know what I mean)... that would be perfect. Like the cell phones turned off in theatres.

For some reason, the ATT site has a truncated version. It lacks the best part: "vengeance!"

The timing and delivery of the kid's final line is hysterical.

I've seen this a few times in the theater already. I love it, he's so funny!

I hadn't realized that Scorsese didn't direct this. But he apparently cast the mom in Ashecliffe. Jim Jenkins, the director, also helmed "One Hour Photo," Marty's AmEx advert.
From various interviews with Jenkins:Over the course of the year, has there been anything that's a highlight? I'd imagine the Scorsese thing was a biggie. How was it working with him again?
One of the strangest things that happened was before we shot the last commercial, we were in the trailer and talking about the last thing we did, the American Express spot, and he said more people yell out lines at him from that than from his movies. My first thought was, 'Wow, that's cool', and my next thought was, 'Wait, that's sad.' That spot has more cultural significance than Goodfellas? But he's a very good sport.
Is it at all intimidating to direct him?
People ask me that, but the only intimidating thing about working with him is worrying about how the spot is going to turn out, and the expectations. This time, I thought he was a little more mellow than the last time we worked together - I found myself actually badgering him over takes.
Jim, you've directed Martin Scorsese twice now, right? How was that?
On Amex, he was supposed to direct the thing originally. All he said was, "Make it funny." The trick is to lead the cast opposite him. It has to be somebody who looks like they could crumble but they don't. And it's hard. I got the vibe when he first met with the woman (in the AT&T spot) that he didn't like her. But he ended up putting her in a movie. She lucked out. The thing with Scorsese is, if this sucks, it's me, it can't be him.

Hmm. I wonder who she will play in Ashecliffe, a nurse maybe...
