Shutter Island to roll in March '08 with Marty/Leo

Hi Shiva and NotaBene :) A sort of confirmation that this is indeed happening. From Variety/Liz Smith: BRAD GREY, en route to his son Sam's "parent's weekend" at Brown University, was in town for Jerry Seinfeld's "Bee Movie," and talking to Martin Scorsese about the coming filming of Paramount's "Shutter Island," a mystery starring Leonardo Di Caprio.

Will Thanks for Liz Smith excerpt as "Shutter Island" is DEFINITELY a book that I would love to see Scorsese/DiCaprio bring to life on the big screen !!! :)

The Screenplay: My fellow compatriot Laeta Kalogridis writes it. I`ve seen 3 things of her work. Birds Of Prey (Bad) Nightwatch (Good) Alexander (Not So Good) Lets hope that this will be her best work. Marty said yes to this. He must know better. Don't know about the quality of this particular script, but I guess if revisions are needed, Kalogridis won't be doing any of them while the strike is going on. She contributes in the United Hollywood blog.

Thanks Arnzilla & Will for interviews, pics, and news... Just finished the novel, and I LOVED IT ! Great, great story, but I won't say more here and will jump to the spoilers' thread. And no doubt, who could play Teddy... It's made for HIM !

What can I say..except that I just took the ferry across to Shutter Island and LOVED IT! The role of Teddy Daniels screams for Leonardo Dicaprio and the story itself is perfect for Scorsese to direct. This one can't get finished fast enough..but then again, this is Scorsese we're talking about..so patience is a must! Arnzilla..once again, thanks for the board..and once again, looking forward to all the 'insight's into a film that your boards always seem to create for us.

I'm not sure but I think I read that writers have sent their scripts to WGA so that it'll be easier to figure out if anyone has worked on them afterwards. And Kalogridis is exec. producing also, so she would know about it.

Here's another horror film that is in preproduction: Incident as Sans Asylum Synopsis: A group of cooks at an asylum for the criminally insane get locked in with the inmates during a massive thunderstorm. Oh, and I wanted to say that I really like the new audio clip... Where does the second part come from?
