Some news here, i don't know if they were just posted guys ...
“Shutter Island,” the Martin Scorsese flick based on Boston man of mystery Dennis Lehane’s best-selling novel, has changed its name.
The 1950s-era film noir, which will start shooting in Massachusetts this spring, is now called “Ashecliffe.” Which, as “Shutter Island” devotees may remember, is the name of the mental institution where much of the action takes place.
However, in screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis’ script, there’s lots of flashbacks to a World War II concentration camp. Hence, the casting call on Jan. 26 for background extras to play malnourished camp prisoners and military or law-enforcement types to portray the guards.
Also, there’s a need for extras to play doctors, nurses and patients at Ashecliffe, according to Grant Wilfley Casting, which has opened a Boston office just for this film.
The open call will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Metcalf Hall at Boston University’s Sherman Union.
