Of course it'd be an important win. But I'm saying there's not much chance of that happening now. Babel, Dreamgirls and Little Miss Sunshine all have three nominations.

Actually a lot of people still predict TD to win Ensemle. IMO Dreamgirls and Little Miss Sunshine are not going to win over TD, and the only possibility is Babel. BUT, Babel too is isn't as strong a contender to win Ensemble as it was prior to the announcement of the noms due to Brad's snub, whom most predicted to get a nomination.

Sorry, peanut.. just saw it. One way to win ensemble would be if today's snub of Nicholson and Wahlberg is really felt by the members, and they decide to vote for the group, in order to compensate for this mess.

Will Like Scream really feel that "TD" is a shoe in for Best Ensemble........ I think it is BECAUSE they are going to vote "TD" for Best Ensemble that they didn't feel the need to take up all of supporting category slots with the actors...feel by voting it Best Ensemble you cover all the bases ... And come 'Oscar time'..I think you will see DiCaprio for lead "TD" and Nicholson for supporting "TD" and posssibly Wahlberg too :)

LONDON -- The two most commercially successful British movies of the year, "Casino Royale" and "The Queen," have emerged at the top of the longlists for the British Academy Film Awards, with 14 entries apiece. They are closely followed by a more eclectic bunch of multilingual pics, including "Pan's Labyrinth," "Babel," "Children of Men" and "The Departed," which all have 13 nods. "The Last King of Scotland" and "Little Miss Sunshine" picked up 12, and "Volver" and "Dreamgirls" tied on 10. This is the result of the first round of BAFTA voting, when the choices are narrowed down to 15 contenders in each category. The five nominees will be selected in the second round, which ends Jan. 12. But given the number of films in the longlists, it's the omissions that are as significant as the inclusions. Congratulations to Leonardo and for the ensemble nod as well. josephc, you should have had more faith,LOL, than to predict no noms whatsoever especially if you liked both his perfomances as much as you claim. You either have very little faith in Leonardo and/or believe in the naysayers too much.

Okay... I'm playin' catch up here today.8) BIG THANKS to all for the award news! I'm BEYOND THRILLED about the SAG Award noms! WAY TO GO, DICAPRIO!!! Even though I'm kinda baffled with the 'Supporting Actor' nom for TD... I'm over the moon about the 'Lead Actor' nom for BD. 8) And I'm not at all surprised about the Outsatnding Ensemble Cast nom for TD! It's ALL GOOD!!! BTW...I can't remember... are the SAG Awards televised??? Whoa. "The Devil Wears Prada" is a best film entry in the BAFTAS??? Whassup with that? :roll:

Peanut, thanks for the BAFTA news! :D I wish we could see the lists... Virgomoon, the SAG awards will be shown live on TNT and TBS at 8 PM (ET/PT), on Sunday, January 28th. I think I also heard during the nominations that they're going to be shown live on the internet as well. Did anyone hear the same thing?

So many awards! will - don't know about SAG being live on the net but please post if you hear anymore. We should get Globes and BAFTA down here on TV. Congratulations Leo et al !

I don't have a link, but someone posted at the OW forums the BAFTA lists. Matt and Leo made it for Actor, Jack and Mark for Supporting Actor. As noted previously the film was also featured in Director and Film. The other 7 nominations are probably in the screenplay and technical categories.
