Arnzilla;
Yes I also noticed the 'Raging Bull' ad on top of the TAXI cab in Persuit of Happiness. Thought that the camera lingered on it and I thought 'that's right, the movie came out in the 70's'

Weird. The awards were all over the place if you ask me. How can Departed win Best Picture but not Best Script or Best Ensemble (writing and acting -- its strongest points, other than Scorsese). It's totally wrong, just plain wrong!!!! Who are these people, anyway???? No rhyme or reason to those choices. UGH!!! Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Jeggy
Thanks for info that you noticed Raging Bull poster like Arnz did
Prison Break/TD score
Saw advertisement for show earlier tonight and they were using the main score from TD

Thanks Scream and Peanut. :)
It was getting scary for a while with all those Little Miss Sunshine wins. But in the end we got the two big ones!! :D
On to the Globes!

Best picture and Best director = great news from the BFCA awards.
And thanks for the pics. At first glance I thought the award was a plastic bag with a goldfish in it.

A few bits from Marty's speech at the BFCA awards:
"I am pleased by this award and surprised. Maybe it's because this is the first picture I made with a plot," he joked after receiving the best director's award.
.............
"I started out trying to make a traditional cop-gangster movie, in the tradition of Warner Bros. movies like 'White Heat.' Then something else came out of it," Scorsese said.
Also, this article details several of the Globes seating arrangements, and it appears that Jack will not be at the Departed table, but rather will sit with friend Beatty. The article also mentions that Spielberg (producer of both Flags and Letters) will present Best Director.
Shynney- 01-14-2007
Thanks for those lovely pictures of Marty Will. How good he looks, good to see him looking so well. So glad he has had such a well deserved success with TD
Love the clip from NY Critics Award on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDSfWfKuu4M Love the comments about making a good film when he is angry!

Oh, thanks Shynney. That was a great clip :) It seemed like he had ten pages of speech with him, but the audience liked it...
I don't know where to post this, but apparently Leo did the annual Newsweek Oscar roundtable with other actors (a mix of leading and supporting ones), but Scorsese was not part of the directors' roundtable. I think the issue comes out end of January or beginning of February.

THANK for that Shynney he could do a turn as a comedian he got so many laughs.
I could have used a slow button when he started talking and although he had a lot of pages to that speech he scrolled through it so fast there can't have been much written on them.
Will
I liked that comment about the plot and after all these years he still finds something new to try with each film. :)
