Of course Scorsese thanked Matt, called him a great actor too!

will- 01-15-2007

Pffft... Babel... Did everyone get through the Beatty thing alright? I almost gave up... Anyway, focusing on the positives... Congratulations to Scorsese for his second golden globe. He was very lively as always. I didn't get half of what he said. But yes, he did thank Matt and nearly everyone else in the cast. What would WB's campaign have to do with Scorsese's speech, anyway? I don't understand... We really need to get the PGA now. It's very very important.

Pffft... Babel... Did everyone get through the Beatty thing alright? I almost gave up... Yeah just barely... I thought it would never end... Everything was pretty predictable of course, but Marty winning made my night. Now on to the Oscars!

arnzilla- 01-15-2007

Did Scorsese mention Matt?Yep, even Anthony Anderson and James Badge Dale... and Andrew Lau, too. I figured TD was gonna win because Babel was winless all night. Only one win for Best Drama? How often does that happen? (I just got the answer: the last time was Bugsy) I noticed Eastwood sorta made a reference to his DGA and PGA snubs by saying the foreign language award gave him self-confidence. LOL @ Ahnuld reading off the list of Best Dramas: Bobble, Bobby... :P Everyone who came after Beatty's rambling speech was given limited time to speak. It felt like it ran at least ten minutes.

leela- 01-16-2007

YES!!! Congratulations to Martin Scorsese  And Matt Damon did he get best supporting actor? I slept through the entire ceremony  (It wasn't shown here) I wish we could have got best pic too but never mind. Arnzilla thanks for the updates we could go to double figures for Best Picture and Best Screenplay next.

stuckonlife- 01-16-2007

And Matt Damon did he get best supporting actor? . Ah no. Not nominated, but the thought was nice. Thanks for the comments on the speech.

CONGRATS TO MARTY !!!

Peanut80- 01-16-2007

Agree...thought Beatty segment would never end....especially his praising of his longtime pal Eastwood....I think we all well remember Eastwood's comment about Beatty telling him 'not to worry' at 2004 Oscars... However...looking at past GG history...I think "TD" and Scorsese" are looking good As in the past four years the only Best Drama winner that went on to win BP at Oscars was "Return of the King" However... for the past three years ....the GG Best Director ( Eastwood/Jackson/Lee) have gone on to win Best Director at Oscars :) Arnz Yes....Marty acknowledged ALL of the cast...as well as...Infernal Affairs..as always...very gracious ....and could tell he was touched by standing ovation....

Tizzy- 01-16-2007

CONGRATULATIONS MARTY!!!! Love ya with all my heart!!!

way to go Marty.
I was watching with my GF and when Jack and Bill didn't win I said to her if we only win 1 I hope it's director. Those award shows are ridiculous. Why do they leave the least amount of time to for the biggest awards. I just hope it wins more at the Oscars. I think Leo will win there. Thanks, Boston Pete.

Congrats to Marty! WOO HOO! I'm so happy for him! What a guy...he remembered everyone, including Lau. Will~ I have Marty's speech on tape. I can't post it as a clip, but I'll try to type up a transcript this week and will post that...I agree, it was very lively. I was laughing when he said he'd talk "faster than normal". LOL @ Ahnuld reading off the list of Best Dramas: Bobble, Bobby... :P    Oh, I do get annoyed when these award shows take up so much time with some stuff and then rush the late winners. Tom Hanks should have done that Beatty tribute in half the time...I mean, we get it, Tom, "1962". Peanut~ Thanks for picture and GG stats!

Peanut80- 01-16-2007

Nota Thanks in advance for posting Marty's acceptance speech clip and transcript for all who didn't get a chance to see the show....much appreciated.. :)

Shynney- 01-16-2007

Leela I slept through the entire ceremony (It wasn't shown here) If you can bare to watch it will be shown on Sky's Livingtv2 channel 114 at 9:30 p.m. this coming Saturday. Am SO pleased for Marty. He is the driving force behind his films and an award to Marty means that the film is something special and all the actors that appeared in it. Yes I would love to see the accceptance speech clip. Thank you Nota

Nota Bene- 01-16-2007

Peanut & Shynney~ Sorry, guys, as I said, I can't post the actual clip...I wish I could, but I just don't have the equipment necessary for that. I can, however, type up a transcript, which I will do this week.
