I think the Satellite awards mean something, since it is composed of professional international entertainment writers. It certainly means more than something like the People Choice awards, which I am not certain which "people" actually votes for the choices. I've never seen anything on People online or in tha magazine which asked for people to vote on their favorites.

Courtney Years ago in USA Today they stated that the People Choice nominees were based on a poll of 1,000 people . At the time reading that info made me realize how often what we wrong assume reflects the 'taste/preferences' of lots of people made by based on the tastes/preferences of a small handful...

Someone on GoldDerby said that "last year, the announcement was made early in the morning. Some years they've waited until evening."

Thanks, arnzilla :) Looking at the results of those years, we shouldn't expect anything more than an appearance in the top 10. But I'd like another ensemble award... :D

From Variety Clint Eastwood's "Letters From Iwo Jima" has won the National Board of Review's top prize, taking home the first award in the kudos race for 2006. Thanks for the news! Congrats to all involved with TD. As an aside, congrat to Djimon! What a surprise. congrats to Forest also but noticed his film was not honored even in the list. And lastly, congrats to Leo for having BOTH his films recognized!

Will Yes...there is much to 'cheer' about TD being named top ten film :) Marty top director :) TD cast = top ensemble :) Plus I'm sure DiCaprio is thrilled to see TWO of his films in top ten = TD and BD :) And I'm sure very happy for Djimon = supporting actor award :)

Stormy The "Departed" cast has now won TWO Best Ensemble Awards..... I definitely think we should make it 3 in a row with SAG Best Ensemble !!!! :) :)
