Congrats Marty! :D Maybe Leo will have a chance to the Oscar.....

Lou- 01-16-2007

Adrenaline season has started... and as each year... I can't help reading nominees and winners... and as each year... BLAH BLAH BLAH... I sware I won't do that again... Ok, I have swallowed my two zen pills and stop here to congratulate my almost homonym... Martin... Cheers to you and your dream team ! And as for "Babel"... this is a movie I want to see...

Shynney- 01-16-2007

YAY MARTY!!!
BIG CONGRATS TO SCORSESE!!! Okay... I'm very, very, extremely disappointed DiCaprio didn't win. :( But I'm BEYOND THRILLED Scorsese won Best Director for TD! LOVED his speech! So cool that he was going to talk faster than his usual! BTW... Did anyone notice when Cameron Diaz introduced TD she said Internal Affairs instead of Infernal affairs?!?!? Oooooops!!! Okay...onward to the SAG Awards & the Academy Awards. I want Marty to WIN the Oscar this year! 8) And, of course...Would LOVE DiCaprio to WIN too!8)

Shynney- 01-17-2007

Don't know what happened to that link to Scorsese's acceptance speech but maybe this one works http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dStHdzf3DQ

margot122- 01-17-2007

Yes Shynney - it works - thanks!

ArtReborn- 01-17-2007

Congrats Marty! :D Maybe Leo will have a chance to the Oscar..... I hate to say it, but I really doubt that. Forest Whitaker has won practically every award up til now so... him and Helen Mirren have kind of wiped the slate clean this year, haven't they? I felt bad for Forest when he could barely get words out of his mouth for his speech. You'd think he'd be used to winning by now... well, he'd better get ready by Oscar time cause it'll probably happen again.

All the usual suspects are part of the SOAP nominations. But here's a new angle... Best Scene or Sequence * Ivana Baquero and The Pale Man sequence (Pan's Labyrinth) * Abigail Breslin performs her routine (Little Miss Sunshine) * Jennifer Hudson performs "And I Am Telling You" (Dreamgirls) * Clive Owen and friends in the car are ambushed and chased (Children of Men) * Martin Sheen departs (The Departed)

Your lists are a wonder Mr Arnzilla - thank you!

josephc- 01-21-2007

Wow, Best Picture oscar is officially wide open....but I think Little Miss Sunshine is gonna be the winner there, with, hopefully, Marty taking Best Director. Little Miss just took home the PGA tonite. Pretty interesting. Personally, don't think that is the best picture, but then didn't think Crash was the best picture last year either. The Departed may be too much for AMPAS, but I'm hoping it's not. :?

arnzilla- 01-21-2007

I liked LMS... a lot. But I'd wait a couple of weeks when things settle for a prediction. It really looks like anything could win at this point.
