I can see me getting up at 4.00am Monday morning despite EG's ear splitting voice. Agree about Ray - he was great.

Congratulations to Thelma If a Queen is to win at the Oscars it should be "Queen Thelma" Peanut Thanks for the photo. Now wouldn't it be great to see all our Departed award winners lined up in one photo eg; Scorsese, Ballhaus, Monahan, Schoonmaker and of course soon to add King and Wahlberg. Arnzilla I do hope your Oscarwatch predictor is correct, I can't fault the logic.

From the wisdom of Tom O'Neil at Oscar Derby: Last Sunday night while sitting with four academy members at the Eddie Awards, I discovered 2 votes for O'Toole, 1 for Leo DiCaprio and 1 for Forest Whitaker. Three close friends of mine who belong to the academy tell me they voted for O'Toole. Granted, I've heard lots of votes for Whitaker, too, and a surprisingly high number for DiCaprio. Leo's really in this game, too. http://goldderby.latimes.com/awards_goldderby/2007/02/biggest_oscar_u.html Oh, and because I realize this is the De-pahted board, the buzzmeter for TD and Mr. Marty S. http://theenvelope.latimes.com/buzz/buzzmeter/...oscars

"Leo's really in this game, too" I like to read that!

Blood diamond didn't get a nod in that category? I can't keep up with all these "awardists".

Hi gang. Well the big weekend is here. I think it has finally dawned on me that I was blessed to be a part of something so special. I hope it wins all 5 but in my heart of hearts if it only wins one I pray it,s director. Mr Scorcese is so brilliant and so good at what he does he truly deserves it. It,s amazing how many people have come up to me since the DVD came out and raved about the movie. I haven,t been this excited about a Sunday Night since the Patriots won their first Superbowl. Thanks Pete

Looking forward to my DVD sometime this week peter. Fingers crossed for Mr Scorsese!

Yep, another one. March 28, 2007 The Empire Awards name The Departed as Best Thriller http://www.empireonline.com/awards/thriller.asp In 2006, Martin Scorsese's take on the Infernal Affair's trilogy became the most commercially successful movie in his thirty years behind the camera. Returning to the crime-ridden mean streets of the city, the director assembled a pedigree cast for this bloody journey into the Boston gangster underworld. Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and - in a career-topping turn - Mark Wahlberg all came together under the master's guidance to spin a web of intrigue, violence and, most potently, intense action. The movie's awards-season victories were popular and well-deserved, making The Departed a gritty, classy addition to Scorsese's peerless body of work. ALSO SHORTLISTED Mission:Impossible III Inside Man Munich Hidden

Arnz Thanks for la-*test*-('") news of yet another well deserved award ! :)

Last Thursday, The Eighth Annual Golden Trailer Awards honored The Departed with yet another award: best trailer for a drama. The jury ranged from Jim Sheridan to Harry Knowles to Marc Bernardin, author of EW's Trailer Park column.

The Cisco Adlerish awards season finally came to a close with the MTV Movie Awards bestowing "Best Villain" upon Jack Nicholson. A sloshed-to-the-max Jack thanked Leo, Marty, Matt, and Alan Horn for allowing him to work on the film. The show was also notable for revealing one of its sponsors (and winner of "Best Movie Not-Yet-Released"... seriously) to be a ginormous suckfest of the highest caliber: Transformers. The insufferable cast (after dominating the pre-show) was up on stage two times too many. Host Sarah Silverman's Departed parody consisted of her getting a cell call from DiCaprio on the subway telling her that she had a tail. She looks at her ass and disagrees. Then Damon comes out of the elevator and gives her more info about her tail. Then Nicholson calls and screams at her to get rid of the tail. Then Shia Lebeauueauooof and Tyrese walked on stage and shouted "Transformers! Transformers! Woo-woo-woo!"

Arnzilla, thanks for the la-*test*-('") (and last ?) awards for The Departed. It was a good year... :) I'd like to think the MTV awards will return to their normal level of silliness in the future. This year was too much. Oh, and here's the clip Arnzilla described (starts at 1:40)
