I was recently watching for my first time Sidney Lumet's The Prince of the City (1981) and discovered Philip Suriano, the actor who played Joe Pesci's brother Dominick Santoro in Casino, in it. Thought I'd drop it in here, since I haven't seen it listed in any filmograpy for Suriano (it's true he isn't listed in the credits for the film either). Also in Prince of the City (only much younger) was another Italian-American character actor seen in a couple of Scorseses: Ronald Maccone, from Goodfellas and Casino.

I just saw "The Hangover" and noticed homages for "Rainman" and "Casino." Rainman's was the descending escalator and Casino's was the desert meeting/sunglasses reflection.

Thaks for the tip, Arnzilla. I had a couple or three good laughs with the trailer for this.

The Hangover also used Mean Streets' "drunk-cam" for one shot.

That's a great name for it!

Back to the Lumet-Scorsese connections, I also caught recently Thomas Murphy, who can be seen in a couple of moments in Raging Bull, playing a small part, uncredited, in another Lumet film I hadn't seen yet, 1975's Dog Day Afternoon. It's fun how all these New York filmmakers (also Spike Lee and Abel Ferrara) kept borrowing the same faces for their films back in the days.
